The development of 3 is the systematic construction of a new financial stack. Each stage deploys a new set of open, autonomous primitives, creating a compound and resilient system for the community. Our path is a deliberate progression from core concepts to a fully-featured economic platform.
Stage 1: The Blueprint

Focus: Laying the Theoretical Foundation
This foundational phase was dedicated to rigorous research and high-level design. We developed the core economic theory, defined the DeFi Trident architecture (Composability, Convertibility, Sustainability), and authored the initial protocol specifications for a user-accessible decentralised currency system.
Stage 2: The Settlement Layer
Foundation & Bootstrap
Status: Complete & Live on main-net
Focus: Establishing Protocol Boundaries and Core Mechanics
This stage involved building and deploying the protocol's fundamental operational layer, providing 3 and its users with their first tools to interact with the economy. We successfully passed security audits and launched the core engine on Ethereum main-net, activating:
The Entry/Exit Mechanisms: The public ability to mint GUILD against assets and the security of the hardcoded Settlement Pledge.
Composable Asset Management: The public Signals System and 3NFTs, allow any user to direct their own reward flows and customise the behaviour of their deposited assets. These same asset management tools allow 3 to manage its treasury by composing its own reward streams.
Stage 3: The Capital Formation Layer
Fortification & Activation
Status: Code Complete, Audit Pending
Focus: Building the Engine for Sovereign Growth
This stage introduces sophisticated mechanisms for capital locking and directed growth, moving the protocol from bootstrapping to self-sustaining expansion. Its core innovations are:
The Bond Engine: A novel system for minting 3Bonds, which programmatically lock GUILD to provide future liquidity for the ecosystem's credit markets.
The Arbitrage Engine: Directs capital from bond purchases directly into the protocol's value-acquisition activities, creating a closed-loop of treasury growth.
Vesting & Rebates: A long-term incentive system designed to align the interests of bondholders with the protocol's multi-year horizon.
Stage 4: The Credit Market Layer
Status: Future
Focus: Activating the Economic Utility of Capital
Building on the locked capital from the Capital Formation Layer, this stage will activate a Single-Sided Lending Pool. This transforms staked GUILD into a productive asset, creating a native, decentralised credit market within the 3 ecosystem and establishing a new source of utility and yield for GUILD.
Stage 5: The Sovereign Ecosystem

Focus: Full User-Led Decentralisation
The final phase shifts focus from protocol-building to ecosystem expansion and full autonomy. Key objectives include:
Open POD Creation: Allowing any user or project to create their own Purpose-Oriented Distributor to fund initiatives, decentralising growth and innovation.
GUILD as DeFi Infrastructure: Establishing the currency as a recognised reserve asset and prime collateral across DeFi through strategic integrations.
Transitioning to a state of complete self-sufficiency, where the protocol's operations and growth are fully managed by its community and economic engines.
