3Pacts

Also referred to as a PACT or PACTs.

A Governance-Aligned Protocol Position

Introduction

A 3Pact (PACT : Protocol Aligned Commitment Token) is a non-fungible token (NFT) representing a specific alignment position within the 3 protocol's ecosystem. It is linked to a predefined interaction with the protocol's internal mechanics.

Protocol Definition

Holding a 3Pact signifies a participant's engagement with a specific, long-term protocol module. Each 3Pact is algorithmically associated with 10,000 GUILD units, which are subject to the protocol's vesting logic, and aligns the holder with the operational outcomes of the system.

The Two States of a 3Pact

A 3Pact exists in one of two programmed states, which determine its current interaction parameters:

Adolescent 3Pact:

  • Acquisition: Typically acquired directly for a stable-coin.

  • Protocol Interaction: Is associated with a 12-month stable-coin return mechanism. It does not yet engage with the GUILD vesting or ETH distribution logic.

  • System Function: Serves as an initial capital coordination mechanism for the protocol.

Aged 3Pact:

  • Activation: Converted from an Adolescent 3Pact or created directly via other protocol modules.

  • Protocol Interaction: Activates the full suite of associated mechanics. This includes the initiation of a vesting schedule for the linked GUILD units and eligibility for potential protocol-generated ETH distributions.

  • System Function: Represents a participant's full alignment with the long-term operational modules of the protocol.

Role Within the Protocol Architecture

3Pacts are a core component of the protocol's design for long-term participation. They serve two primary system functions:

Supply Coordination: The GUILD units linked to each 3Pact are programmatically allocated to specific protocol modules, influencing internal liquidity parameters.

Incentive Alignment: The mechanism for potential ETH distributions to Aged 3Pact holders is designed to align the interests of long-term participants with the operational performance of the protocol.

A design feature of the protocol is the automatic allocation of unclaimed governance weight (VW3) to increase the ETH distribution parameter for the module associated with 3Pact holders. This is a programmed system preference for participants in this alignment position.
