Purpose-Oriented Distributors

What is a POD?

A Purpose-Oriented Distributor (POD) is a dedicated channel within the 3 ecosystem for the allocation of assets to a specific, predefined function. They are the pathways through which the Distribution Engine directs assets to different operational areas of the protocol.

The Core PODs

The ecosystem includes a set of foundational PODs, each with a designated operational area:

  • Developers POD: Allocates assets to fund protocol development and security.

  • Creatives POD: Allocates assets to fund communication and community initiatives.

  • Creditors POD: Allocates assets to holders of Aged 3Pacts.

  • Reserve Booster POD: Allocates assets to the Protocol-Controlled Reserve Vault.

  • Liquidity Booster POD: Allocates assets to support liquidity parameters in external markets.

How Are Funds Allocated?

The allocation of assets is not fixed. It is a parameter influenced by governance. Holders of governance weight (VW3) can stake it directly into the PODs they wish to influence. The Distribution Engine then allocates ETH to each POD in proportion to its total staked VW3 weight.

Future Design: An Expandable Framework

The POD framework is designed to be expandable. The long-term design vision includes the potential for new PODs to be created through governance, allowing for the proposal of new initiatives that could interact with the Distribution Engine.

This model establishes parameters for the continuous routing of assets to areas prioritized by governance.
